Made this with regular dry mustard (not hot) and only 1 dash of tabasco sauce. I like the tart flavor from the vinegar and the sugar was a perfect amount to cut some of the tartness. Made for AUS/NZ Recipe Swap #48.

We loved this dressing! I made half the batch, but know I will be making it as soon as my supply runs out. This will be a great go-to dressing to have on hand. I loved the flavor and consistency. Thank you so much!

Nice! I don't use a lot of salad dressings so it's always good to find nice recipes that scale down well using things I normally have around. Only change I made was I'd run out of Tabasco so used a Bhut Jolokia based hot sauce instead which gave it a nice tang :).

A great recipe with a nice zing to it from the Tabasco Sauce. I halved the recipe, as I thought a cup and a half would take us quite some time to use. Made for Aussie / Kiwi Swap 49 Feb 2011.

What a great salad dressing Leggy Peggy. We loved it, I will not be buying Italian dressing from the store again. Your recipe has converted us, love the bite. So much flavor and so easy to make. I did add the tabasco sauce and the cayenne option. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful recipe, into my keeperbox this goes.

This is a great recipe to keep for those emergency "I need Italian salad dressing for a recipe" moments. I know because I had one yesterday! :) It's very basic, tasty, has enough zing to say Italian without a bunch of competing flavor to mess up your recipe. AND it doesn't have a bunch of weird chemicals like the bottled kind. Thank you so much for posting, this is definitely a keeper. Made for ZWT4.

Great basic Italian Dressing recipe! I chose the cayenne option and left out the celery salt because we didn't have any. Still tasted fantastic! Thanks Peggy! Made for ZWT 4.

This is a very nice dressing. As another reviewer said, it is light yet flavorful. I would choose this over any store bought Italian dressing. Thank you for the post.

This is great refreshing salad dressing. It went well with the Italian salad I made for supper. It has a nice taste, I thought it might be too strong, but it was just right. Made for the ZWT 2008.

This dressing is no less than fabulous. Simple, light and flavorful. I don't know that I will ever have to spend the money on Italian Dressing ever again. . .for real! I did add 1 tsp of Italian Seasoning. Made for one of my teammates for ZWT4.

Now I am used to French Dressing, or Undressing as the case may be!! However, this was a great alternative to my usual table-top dressing. I made it EXACTLY as stated, and was VERY generous with the Tabasco, as we all like it. I served it with mixed salads at a Drinks and Dips party, and it went down very well with all my guests. Thanks for posting this easy dressing recipe Peggy, you can never have to many dressings or is that dresses??!! It will certainly be a keeper for me, and, I would not change a thing! Made for PAC Autumn 2007. FT:-)
